Your bank will want to charge you at least £25 for the privilege and may take 28 days or more for no reason whatsoever. A much cheaper way to transfer money from your UK account to your American account (for instance) is to:

1) Get an extra cashcard on your UK account

2) Send it to your trusted American friend/family member

3) Send them your PIN and some paying-in slips

4) Ask them to withdraw dollars from the ATM in the wall in America

5) Ask them to credit the cash to your American account

Thus you have immediate cash transfer for a cost of about $1.50 in total.

Want to know whether the internet virus warning you have received is genuine? It isn't. Especially if it claims to have come from AOL, IBM or Microsoft. When the football results start arriving in your email on a chain letter, then you can expect virus warnings to be genuine. Until they do, then the best place to get the scores and the virus warnings is on the BBC News Website. If it isn't April 1st, then there is a fair chance that the BBC warnings are genuine.
